A Nigerian Medical practitioner known as Dr. Viva has lamented over how Nollywood producers and directors project child birth in movies.
Dr. Viva took to her Twitter page and urged directors and producers to seek medical advice on how child delivery is done as she questioned the lack of funds to seek medical guidance on how some hospital scenes should be carried out.
Sharing a video showing some excerpts of a scene where a woman in labour is giving birth in the hospital, Dr. Viva exclaimed that the way child birth is being carried in Nigerian movies is reducing medical doctors and nurses to what they are not as it puts their health sector hundred steps behind in the eyes of the world.
She wrote;
Nollywood! Nollywood! Nollywood! Is it that you guys don’t have money to pay a medical practitioner to direct some of these hospital scenes or that you guys don’t know that some of these things puts our health sector and practice hundred steps behind in the eyes of the world.
