A middle-aged man who is a suspected sea pirate has been nabbed after launching a violent boat attack at Bolo-Ama Fishing Settlement in Bonny, Rivers State.
The name of the suspect was given as Dan Clifford George and he is alleged to be one of the sea pirates terrorizing the Bonny/Port Harcourt Waterways.
The development was confirmed by the Special Assistant to the Bonny Local Government chairman, Comr Williams Ogbah Agwu.
Confirming the news, he said;
“This guy by name DAN CLIFFORD GEORGE, he hails from Asarama Community in Andonai LGA Rivers State. He is one of the sea pirates that has been terrorizing the Bonny/Port Harcourt Waterways,” the statement says.
“But luck ran out of him yesterday while on operation around the BOLO-AMA fishing settlement, close to the yellow platform, after his team on operation violently capsized and used macheted on all the passengers on the boat coming from Port Harcourt to Bonny. He was apprehend and handed over to the Joint Nigeria Navy/Army Force operating at the Bonny Coal Beach in the early hours of today. The Nigeria Army has handed over the assailant to the Nigeria Marine Police for further investigation and prosecution.”
