Popular Nigerian actor and movie director Yul Edochie also called the ‘Odogwu’ has shared on his page how he overcame the pressure from trolls and cyberbullies.
Most people who are trolled and bullied are celebrities and public figures. Some social media users purposely drag these public figures over trivial issues and matters of no public interest.

Recounting an incident that happened about 10 years ago, Yul disclosed that in 2001, he bought his first car which was a small 1991 Honda. However, while some of his friends who had bigger cars congratulated him, those without cars or bicycles were the ones seriously making fun of him.
According to him, those bullies who made fun of his small car were the same people who use to stop him by the roadside asking for a lift. He stated that from that time, he stopped worrying himself over negative comments from critics.
He wrote, “Let me tell you how I stopped worrying about trolls and bad belle people. In 2001 0r 2002, I bought my first car. A small car, a 1991 Honda CRX. I noticed something. My friends then who had bigger cars, they all congratulated me and wished me well. But the people who were making fun of me and my small car, they didn’t even have bicycles. Dem dey trek, dey beg me for lift. So i stopped worrying. People wey no reach you na dem sabi yab pass”.
