For allegedly beating a member of the state security organization Amotekun, four men have been charged before a magistrate’s court in Akure, Ondo State.

Three siblings, Mimo Ogunmakin, Doyin Ogunmakin, and Oloruntosin Ogunmakin, were among the defendants.

Olaiya Alawoesokan was named as the fourth suspect. They were detained and charged with conspiring with fugitives after being brought to court.

Oluwasegun Omoloro, an officer, was allegedly attacked by the men while he was working at the Amotekun office in the state’s Irele Local Government Area.

The defendants were accused of conspiracy and harm-causing assault. Sections 516A and 355 of the Criminal Code Law, Cap. 37, Laws of Ondo State, 2006, were broken by the offenses.

Mr. O.F. Akeredolu, the state’s attorney, requested a court adjournment so he could get ready for the trial.

Additionally, Mr. O. Bernard, the defense attorney, asked the court to grant his clients liberal bail conditions and pledged to put up trustworthy sureties in exchange.

The case was continued until November 26 for a hearing after the magistrate, Damilola Sekoni, granted the defendants bail in the amount of N200,000 with one surety in the same amount.
