It would be recalled that Shatta Wale initiated a campaign against the Nigerian music industry for refusing to support Ghanaian talents. He made this statement during his December show at the Accra Sports Stadium.

He lashed out at some top Nigerian musicians over the reluctance in reciprocating the love and support they have received from Ghanaians over the years for reasons better known to them.

Edem in an interview with Zionfelix stated that there is no doubt that Nigerians are far gone globally in terms of music and the only thing Ghanaians would have to do to amass such greatness is by joining them and not chasing them.

He stated that Ghanaian musicians will be able to attain the same level of success as some Nigerian musicians have achieved only if they align, market, and affiliate themselves with top music brands in order to reach that goal.

He mentioned that the likes of Burna Boy have signed with global brands which have invested their resources in his craft and are also promoting his music on every platform and pushing him to the top. He indicated that Burna Boy’s success at the 63rd Grammys was a result of his partnership with these brands.

The “Toto” hitmaker further stated that Ghanaian musicians can begin by marketing themselves to attract such brands to invest their resources with them.
