The Police in Enugu State has nabbed Mrs. Ifeoma Ezeugwu for drilling nails in two places of Miss Chinoye Nnadi’s head, a 10-years old girl.
Mrs. Ifeoma also assaulted the young girl with hot electric iron all over her body.

On Friday, Prof. Joy Ngozi Ezeilo, founding Director of WACOL/Tamar SARC was informed about the Chinoye’s plight. The 10-year-old girl received hurtful body injuries from her so-called ‘Madam’ relative who she works for as a housemaid.
Prof Ezeilo said,
We demand full wrath of the law on this woman that inflicted such a level of physical injury on this girl.

I spoke to the distraught mother of the victim. She is a poor widow living in a rural village in Aku, near Nsukka, Enugu state.
It is time to eradicate child labour, ban and punish heavily anyone using children as domestic help. The Child Rights Act and the NAPTIP Act must be effectively enforced. WACOL will follow through to ensure that justice is done in this matter.
Miss Chinoye Nnadi was born to a poor widow who had to hand over her to someone who might hopefully get her a good education and survive. It is our earnest prayer she recovers.
