An unidentified student of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, (KNUST) allegedly performed abortion on campus.
The student reported dumped the aborted fetus in the water closet of one of the wash rooms probably in the hostel.
The 2020 presidential candidate of the National Democratic Congress, (NDC), John Dramani Mahama has stated that his rights to air his views on matters of national interest cannot be taken from him regardless of his status in the political space.
John Mahama made this known to the Attorney General, Godfred Yeboah Dame after the Godfred castigated Mahama over his comments about the judiciary describing it as an unjustifiable attack on the credibility of Ghana’s courts.
Mahama said, “The judiciary is the last arbiter. We can disagree, and we can have quarrels in Parliament eventually when we are unable to agree, we all go to the justice system and we must have confidence that it will do fairly and will do so according to the law and in the public interest that’s all I was saying.”
“So how he [Attorney General] can interpret that to mean that I was imprudent … So if you are a former president and you see something going on in the country you have no right to talk about it? Is that what he is saying?”
He added, “No, I won’t let him take that right away from me. If I see something going wrong, I will point it out. It is my duty to do so.”
Also, speaking in an interview with TV3, Mahama expressed his utmost displeasure that their SIM cards had been barred despite the fact that he and his team members had re-registered them.
He said;
“The SIM registration, you can even start with new SIM cards and say that ‘No Ghana Card, No SIM card’ if you are purchasing. So we can start at that point while we mop up the others in the system.
“But if you say by September 30th, everybody must have it or else we will take punitive actions against you…your data will be more expensive, we will block your outgoing calls and so on and so forth, that’s a major problem. CONTINUE READING…
