The president of the Republic,Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has stated that both MP’s of National Democratic Congress (NDC) and his New Patriotic Party (NPP)need to be on the same page to achieve the progress and development the country deserve.
Speaking on Kumasi based Opemsuo FM , president Akufo-Addo said;

I see it as a good sign that the two sides are prepared to sit down together and see the way forward. We will deliberate on issues together.”
“We have only one Ghana, and we don’t have anywhere else to go. So we can’t have a situation where the government is going in one direction and then Parliament is going in the other. That wouldn’t help the smooth running of the country.”
The 8th parliament of Ghana consist of 137 NDC and NPP MP’s with one independent candidate.
