An American economist known as Dr. Saad Iddrisu has issued a warning to the president of Ghana, H.E Nana Akufo Addo over the introduction of the E-Levy by his government on the citizenry.

The E-Levy also called the Electronic Levy is a tax imposed on all financial transactions carried out online including mobile money transactions and it has been vehemently opposed by the opposition in parliament as well as the populace.

Reacting to this, Dr Iddrissu pointed out that one of the reasons why coups occur in Africa is because African governments and leaders refuse to do what the people want or need.

According to the economist on Radio Tamale’s political take program monitored by Ghbase.com, in the last two years, there have been four coups in Africa.

“You’re elected as a government to provide what the people want, not always have your way,” he remarked.

Dr Iddrisu intimated that the E-Levy will worsen the problems of Ghanaians.

You are elected to government to provide what the people want, not to get your way all the time, because it creates unneeded tensions that might lead to a coup”, he remarked.

In other news, Ghanaian music superstar and entrepreneur, Charles Nii Armah Mensah popularly called Shatta Wale has reacted to the expose and outburst by television presenter, Abena Korkor on social media about her s3xual escapades with certain media personalities and politicians in Ghana.

In a post via Twitter, Shatta Wale was curious to know why men in the industry move to Abena Korkor to have a bite of her body and he questioned if those men are okay.

He also charged women to wake up and support their sister Abena Korkor, because she is being abused.
