Honorable Kofi Adams, the former National Organizer of National Democratic Congress (NDC) has asked President Akufo-Addo to cut 40 ministers of state and save GHC60 million to cushion the economy of Ghana.

Speaking on GHOne TV on Monday 21 September, 2020, which Ghgossip.com followed, he expressed his opinion about the ruling government NPP ministerial appointees, saying it is too large to waste the country’s financial resources.

Mr. Kofi Addams in his submissions, added that the National Democratic Congress (NDC) when voted into power will use the money of the 40 ministers to invest in their 2020 manifesto campaign “The Big Push”

to help develop the youth of Ghana.

He said, “Cutting off 40 ministers would save the country GHC40 million which the NDC has said we would channel it into the National Apprenticeship Programme as stated in our manifesto”

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo in his ministerial appointment in 2017, decided to select 112 minister, which new ministries were instituted to govern the country with. Although Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) and some Ghanaians raised the taught about having large number of ministers was needles.

The President, in hi s answers to the complaints said the 112 ministries will hep his government to perform to expectation of Ghanaians, his promises and rebuild the economy, and the country at large whuch he debated was almost collapsed by the NDC goverment.

“This government has chosen to choose lot of minister and spending much money on the ministers. Has chosen to take so much presidential staffers and spend so much on them. We say we want to take that money and spend it on the young persons, train them, equip so they can work”. Mr. Kofi Adams stated
