The New Patriotic Party NPP General Secretary, John Boadu has disclosed that the party suggested that the Member of Parliament fomena who went for the election as an independent candidate be nominated as the Second Deputy Speaker of Parliament.

As he debunked claims that the National Executives of the NPP should be blamed for the defeat of the former speaker of Parliament, Prof. Mike Aaron Oquaye, John Boadu through his press aide noted that it was the party that negotiated for the nomination of fomena MP for the Second Deputy Speaker of Parliament.

In a statement that was released, John Boadu added that he was invited to participate in the background negotiations involving the leadership of the house on both sides which he played a key role in getting the NDC side to agree and support the NPP proposal for the nomination of Hon. Amoako Asiamah for the Second Deputy Speaker.
