Nigerian vocal powerhouse Waje has opened up on her life, living as a parent in social media.
In an Instagram live session, she had with her daughter Emerald and friend, the ‘Do me’ singer shared her experience of motherhood and how she has been raising her daughter.
Waje intimated in the conversation that there has been two sets of generations, her generation when she was growing up and her daughter’s generation.

She revealed that her daughter Esmerald did not approve of a relationship she was into some time ago.
“There was a time I was dating someone and my daughter didn’t approve. Instead of her to tell me that she doesn’t approve of the person, she called her Nana( her grandmother).She was in the boarding school back then”.
Defending her action, Emerald said: ”It’s courtesy. It would be selfish of me to have told you how I felt because I didn’t even know how you felt at that moment”.
Waje further intimated that she puts her daughter first in every decision she makes in her life.

“Every decision I make is because of you. Off course you should take my feelings into consideration”, she said.
Emerald also added that parents expect their kids to have deep conversations with them, without creating the atmosphere for it.
She said: ”A lot of parents don’t have some deeps conversations with their children till they are a certain age and they expect their children to open up to them when they didn’t lay that foundation early enough”.
