The General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Asiedu Nketia, has charged the Akufo Addo-led administration to ensure that Ghana’s problems are solved now that the E-Levy has been passed into law.

Asiedu Nketia made sent this message during an interview with TV3’s Roland Walker after President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo gave the 2022 State of the Nation Address (SONA) on March 30.

Asiedu Nketia said the incumbent New Patriotic Party (NPP) administration has always claimed the E-levy is the cure to Ghana’s woes.

“The entire process has been flipped upside down, We have a president who claims to believe in the rule of law while pushing his followers to break the law.”

“I wasn’t in Parliament yesterday, but I observed misuse of all House procedures. Technically, I don’t think the correct processes were followed in the approval, but there is a notion that an erroneous judgment remains a decision until it is rectified. We’ll go back to the drawing board and see if we can keep fighting the E-levy.
