Renowned Ghanaian journalist and television presenter, Afia Pokua, better known as Vim Lady, has said that she will not cover the 2024 elections as a precaution.

Samsom Lardy Anyenini, who currently works with Despite Media Group after switching camps from competitors Multimedia Group, told JoyNews analysis show Newsfile on Saturday that her move was strictly based on security considerations after she was subjected to two different attacks in the past.

“I have been a victim of these attacks twice under the New Patriotic Party (NPP),” she said.

“… In the 2020 election, I had to flee the county for a month and returned later when the coast was clear. Unfortunately, this was not captured in the report; other journalists were attacked,” she disclosed.

Unfortunately, Vim woman announced her plans to ditch the media industry owing to the violence against journalists in the line of duty.

We can no longer continue and I am not the only one. We have had several media people who are exiting the industry and moving into Public Relations, moving into Corporate Communications because it is safer, no attacks emotionally and physically,”

he said.

Bovi made this revelation while interacting with his fans on Instagram during a question and answer session with fans and followers.

Bovi was asked by a fan who has been his strongest ally since he began his comedy career in the entertainment sector.
