The highly rated Nigerian singer, songwriter and performing artiste has attained another global career milestone with his global smash hit single ‘Essence’ featuring songstress, Tems in the United Kingdom.

The Starboy Entertainment head who recently bagged the prestigious BMI songwriting award with the monster hit tune with Tems and its remix featuring Ed Sheeran, has also been certified platinum in the UK for the same song.

According to the official website of the British phonographic industry, the masterpiece ‘Essence’ as at September 30, 2022 has sold 600,000+ units already and has officially bagged a platinum certification in England.

The Grammy winning musician, songwriter and performing artiste, Wizkid a.k.a The Big Eagle has bagged another global career milestone after his recent win at the 2022 BMI Awards which was held in London.

The BMI Film & TV Awards happens to be accolades annually presented by Broadcast Music, Inc. The event honors songwriters, composers alongside music publishers in various genres and the 2022 edition was held at Savoy Hotel in London on Monday 3rd October.

Wizkid’s monster and chart topping tune, ‘Essence’ featuring raving songstress Tems and its remix, which features Canadian star, Justin Bieber were named to the “Most Played Songs Of The Year” list. This latest feat makes Wizkid the first African artist in history to win 5 BMI awards.
