The late Ebony’s final funeral rite has officially been slated for March 17, 2018. The late star died in a ghastly motor accident on the Sunyani-Kumasi road after she paid her mum a surprise visit.

Ghanaians are still in shock and many are yet to come to terms with her demise. The country has literally come to a standstill and if her one week celebration is anything to go by, then we are about to witness the biggest celeb funeral of all time.

Before Ebony died, she was arguably Ghana’s biggest artiste with several hit songs which were making waves on the various chart shows.

Now that she’s gone many are wondering whether she’s even eligible to vie for the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMAs).

However the CEO of Chaterhouse, Theresa Ayoade has stated categorically the late musician is still a contender for the awards.

In that regard I’ve compiled 3 reasons why I strongly think she will win the topmost award; the prestigious Artiste of the Year.

#1. Ebony had lots of hit songs

The Artiste of the Year is not given to the musician with the most hit songs but one who is able to pull crowds through series of concert across the country. But with her series of hit songs which attracted lot of concert for her within and outside the country, Ebony has a huge chance of winning this hands down.
