The founder and leader of the United Progressive Party (UPP), Akwasi Addai Odike has suggested that Ghanaians should ignore John Deamani Mahama as far as the 2020 polls is concerned over his political gimmicks.
According to him, the desperation in his eyes and needless promises- such as maintaining and improve nurses and teachers’ allowance show his true colors. Speaking to Kumasi-based Angel FM, Odike can’t fathom why the same person who famously canceled the scheme when he was the President of Ghana now wants to maintain and improve it like he’s saying.
“It is too bad that we are still pushing more people into nursing schools and paying them allowances every month and if we don’t take care, politics will destroy this country; when I become the president, I will revoke the allowance scheme and reinitiate the loan scheme and bond beneficiaries; that was the best thing that Mahama was doing but now he is saying that he would continue to pay if he becomes president again because he is a coward and desperate for power”, he said.
