Undoubtedly the most sensational highlife artiste in recent times, Mr. Nana Yaw Kumi affectionately known in the show biz industry as Kumi Guitar has once again added to his long list of awards yet another very prestigious trophy at the just ended Ghana Music Awards UK held in London.
Heavily patronized by both Ghanaians in UK and in Ghana, as well as worldwide. Kumi Guitar found himself in a fierce “battle” of who would be awarded the Highlife Artist of the year, one of the most important categories of the event.
Nominees for the said category included highlife heavy weights such as Kidi, Kuami Eugene, Wutah, King Promise and Nero X. It was however in no doubt Kumi Guitar would walk away with the award.
Mr Guitar has been a very vibrant highlife act these past few years, having signed on to the Zylofon Music, releasing hits such as Betweener, Dream and Brown Sugar which has been widely accepted by the masses and has also received enormous amounts of airplay across all media platforms.
