Several victims of the last year’s floods in the Upper East Region have moved into new homes constructed by the Ghana Red Cross Society in collaboration with the Swiss Red Cross society.

The humanitarian organization decided to come to the aid of the worst affected victims after the flood last year killed at least 29 people and displaced hundreds in the Builsa North District and Kasena Nankana municipality.

The National President of the Ghana Red Cross Society, Mr. Kwame Gyimah Ekwafo said that the building project did not only seek to replace the flood victims but also withstand torrential rainfall.
