The President Nana Akufo Addo in his 4th briefing to update the country on the coronavirus situation in the country announced that Accra and Kumasi Accra, Tema and Kumasi will be under lockdown for two weeks.

The news has received mixed reactions from Ghanaians but to irbard Security boss, Alhaji Irbard Ibrahim the decision is the only catalyst that will send the President and his government back to opposition.

Irbard gave a lengthy explanation to why project his argument saying: “A lockdown is a bait that can take Prez Akufo-Addo to opposition in December. The choice is his to make. It feels good to be the strongest man in Ghana but mind you, it is only for a while!

Trump is a smart guy. He says this lockdown thing won’t help him because his opponents just want it to continue so they beat him at the polls in the general election.

The world should move on despite Corona. It is becoming clearer and clearer that it is not Armageddon and our normal lifestyles have to resume. Just take precautions and move on with your life. You can’t live in apprehension forever!”

He added” We live in a country where most families- father, mother and children- have to walk many meters to attend nature’s call. Some even have to use community bathrooms because of a lopsided socio-economic regime handed to us by capitalism and we think a lock-down sounds okay?

Nations imposing lockdowns have better stay-at-home living conditions and are considering direct payments to cushion citizens. A corrupt system like ours would spawn nepotism and favoritism even if payments are to be made to vulnerable families.

Have we thought of the possibility of starvation, looting of kiosks and supermarkets because of hunger and a poor surveillance system to monitor deserted walkways and alleyways?”
