On Monday evening, John Dramani Mahama officially introduced Naana Jane Opoku Agyemang as his partner for 2020 polls. Moments after that, the first female running mate of any flagbearer in the history of Ghana rallied all Ghanaians to support the NDC.

‘I extend a hand to everyone, no matter how disappointed you have become; no matter the depth of your frustration, your anger, your despair, Come! Let’s chart a path for our country, built on the values of integrity, merit, trust, responsible citizenship, caring, putting others first, simple polite language,’ she charged Ghanaians.

She further added: ‘Come, men, women, our youth, our children, together, let us build the Ghana we can have which must belong to us all, and which must pay special, working and workable attention to the vulnerable.’

An overly impressed Lydia Forson took to her Facebook platform on Tuesday to applaud Naana’s demeanour, saying;

I’m trying to listen to Prof. Naana Opoku Agyemag without seeing her gender, politics and who’s she’s running with.

I’m impressed.

Even if she’s politicking, she’s speaking in a way that makes you want to listen.

She’s not reading (atleast I can’t see that she is) but talking as if she’s sitting on your couch at home and having a conversation with you.

I love that she talks about our ‘Ghanaianess’ calls for compassion, kindness and pride in our country.

Regardless of your political leanings, you can pause and appreciate how nice it is to listen to a politician without ‘feeling’ like you’re being manipulated or played. ( even if you are) She’s talking to us not at us. * ** please leave your arguments in your page, I don’t have the energy for whatever “foot-soldiering” you want to engage in.’
