The leader of the biggest opposition party in Ghana, John Dramani Mahama has fired salvos at the New Patriotic Party (NPP) for their incompetence and lies under the tutelage of Nana Akufo Addo.

The former president and leader of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) said this moments after he registered for his voter’s ID card at Bole. He argued that the current happenings in Ghana clearly indicated that the NPP was not concerned about the well-being of the citizens but was doing everything possible to hang on to power forever through whatever means without regard for Ghanaians.
A lot of the things that are happening in the country, closure of radio stations, harassment of journalists and the use of military to prevent people from registering in the ongoing voter registration exercise all show the NPP is doing everything possible to hang on to power, he noted.
John Dramani Mahama also added that two former presidents, Jerry John Rawlings and John Agyekum Kuffour handed power peacefully to their respective successors but that is not likely to happen with Nana Akufo Addo who is using foul means to hold on to power.

He further added that the NPP has failed to fulfil the promises it made to Ghanaians that led them to power in the 2016 general elections. He fired thus: It has been four years of abandoned projects and failed promises. One Village, One Dam has not materialised and most districts do not have factories yet. It has been all propaganda. The NDC will come back strongly in 2021 and restore the broken economy and hopes of Ghanaians.’ His comment hasn’t impressed NPP supporters who came out in their numbers to react to his statement.
